Another mod to be added to the list this weekend...

Post by Diablo0 » Fri Feb 15, 2008 12:14 am

Manny Z Rear Control Arms

Going on this weekend as long as I get some required bolts by then that were left out of the box by accident. :) Being installed along with it, a SRT control arm to replace the Neon control arm thats in there right now on the passenger side that I had to put in b/c the ball joint in the original control arm was shattered from the donor car. Mopar Performance Tension struts, Energy Suspension bushings... and now these. Not to mention some brand spankin new tires finally :D Hopefully in the coming weeks Rage-Tek will have their Traction bushings out again in which case those will go in as well.

Over stock... well, this eliminates the stock rubber bushings in your rear control arms. They're also easily adjustable to adjust rear toe (which can be done with the stock arms) and camber adjustments without the need for camber plates or to use in addition to camber plates. Might also give a little more range of motion on the heim joints instead of the stock rubber bushings. They take the place of the rear somewhat flimsy pressed metal stock control arms.

I guess the 1st gen used similar type bars, but I dont think they were adjustable... They look nice thou, I think you need to come up with a good way to set up your alignment because every time you touch these something will go out of speck.

I adjusted on thing on my car and that changed all the other parameters...

Should make it feel a lot stiffer in the rear...

Ive been thinking about getting a set of these, but every time I get out the wallet I realize I need to pay off more Credit Debt and not spend money on the car.

I would venture a guess to say yes... they should offer A LOT more compared to the stock arms.

You have to contact "manny z" on SRTforums as he isn't a vendor but has been making them for a few years now.

Little bit of a hickup on the install this weekend. Manny forgot to include a bolt I needed and it was supposed to arrive Saturday but it didn't :( Not to mention one of my BC coilovers that has been making noise is shot. Not blown but something is broke in it causing it to bottom out after being compressed only 1.75" Compared to the other side, it can compress over 3" and still not bottom out. Damn BC coils, I knew I should have held out and bought KWs like I wanted originally... grr

Yah, I hope they'll be a nice addition but the idea now is to get the coil put back on. One of the BC coils broke and am trying to get BC to warranty it... when they contact me back that is.
