Can I get a little clarification, please?

Post by CAMS_02 » Wed Feb 20, 2008 8:05 am

Okay, I read through a buttload of threads last night, but I'm still a little "cornfused" on some things. I have a 2002 SE with the 6-speaker stereo system. The door speakers are 6.75" and the rear deck speakers are 6"x9". The dash speakers are 3.5" and are a full-range speaker, NOT just a tweeter. Am I correct so far? Now, does anyone know how many watts my stock CD player is kickin' out? Finally, are each of the six of the speakers in this car 4 ohms? Thanks, peeps!

that radio puts out about 15w RMS x4 @14.4v

the rears are 4ohms and the 4 front speakers are 8ohms a pop

the door and the tweeter and conected in parallel on thier respective sides which makes a 4ohm load at the left and right channels

the dash speakers are full range speakers with a capacitor inline the + side glued to the speaker magnet whch in turn makes it a tweeter.

a speaker can still be blown and the coil can still move the coil, usually this is cause the surround is gone or dry rotted, also the voice coil can still come loose and the speaker can still physically move the cone so you still get sound

as far as speakers on factory radio pioneers are good
