I finally found someone willing to ship from the UK and this is what i bought.
A BUX R/T cluster is now in my possession! 80,850 miles on the odo.
The only thing i don't like is the 'liquid' that spilled out onto the face, as you can see in the picture. I'm guessing that it's from the spedo motor. I will have to test this out soon and make sure it's working.
Is there a recommended way of getting the face off of the cluster so i could clean it?

I would definitely NOT use any cleaning agent on it...
use a cotton swab gently and see what happens....
hopefully it will be just a simple cleaning....

See the shiny silver torq screws? Remove them, and your speedo mask is exposed.
Nice find man

If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

WoW, that cleaned up nicely... looks great, i was afraid that the oil spill would leave a stain or something
FYI, the glass piece is interchangeable between all years and all cluster styles.. if the one in your car is in a better shape swap it out of your old cluster before you put this in...
show us how this looks powered-up !!!!

Just a note...the mask is interchangeable, but you will loose the chrome trim rings around the gauges since it is part of the lens. It can be separated, but it's easy to crack the lens trying to get them apart....
Food for thought.

good catch man,

yeah i forget that the rings are part of the mask on this one, although the shape of the mask should be identical .....I'm curious though if they could be swapped out or not.....

I will try it out. The chrome rings are on the front plastic. So they should be swappable to my stock cluster. When i pull mine i will swap the front and see if it will fit and take some pics of what it will look like.

probably going to be swapping this weekend. Basically It's 4 screws for the dash top and 4 for the cluster?

yep, not hard at all. And as indicated in an earlier post, swap out the PCB (printed circuit boards) if your original cluster had a tach on it... that will retain your mileage.
