o2 simulator.

Post by hul kogan » Thu Feb 21, 2008 11:24 am

after some searching around on here and the other .org, it seems like a number of people are using these successfully in first gens but i don't see a whole lot of 2nd gen owners doing so. i actually found a number of options but it appears only 1st gen owners are reporting success.

i'm not using my downstream o2 sensor and i am looking to get rid of the CEL. can anyone lead me in the direction of a how to or instructions with a parts list so i can make my own?

I've had it on my swap for about 6 months now and have yet to throw a code using it.

i was reading about that yesterday. obviously it still requires that the sensor be in place. is there any options that don't use the sensor? i am talking more along the lines of a resistor or the like. something that will tell the computer that the sensor is there and connected.

Anyone come up with a solution to this? I'm going to put a wideband in the downstream spot on my new DP, for megasquirt in the summer. I don't mind dealing with the CEL, but if there is a fix for it, or a simulator that would be cool.

BUT you bumped this for a good reason. So we won't stone you...too hard, at least. Heh.

To answer you question, as far as I know that would be a negative. I ended up not delving into it much farther after this post and just dealing with the CEL.

Hmm I may have to try that DIY circuit. It looks pretty inexpensive.

I think casper electronics made one, but from what I can tell, they stopped for some reason.
Summit Racing used to sell them also, but haven't seen any in the catalog for a while. IDK if EPA put the smack down on them or not. As long as they were labeled for off road/track use, I'm not sure there was/are any laws being violated.
