MPx UDP ?
MPx UDP ?
I was wondering does the MPx UDP come with the timing belt, alternator belts, A/C /Power Steering belt or are those sold separately?
Also I did a search and I can't seem to find the difference btw the MPx UDP and the Unorthrodox UDP thanks.

Alright so lets say I do get the MPx UDP since its cheaper and ya not made of money, but I'm around 87k and wanna do the timing belt, serp. belt and water pump, figuring I might as well get free up lil extra power by gettin the UDP.
I plan on having a shop doing the install, so any old timing belt will fit then like the one on Modern? Is that one any good? Since the shop timing belt is like 57 and MP is just 10 bucks cheaper but hey I'm all for saving heh. They wanna charge 250 for labor but I rather not eff it up or go through the hassle.
Plus since the dayco ones suck anywhere I can get better ones? Thanks.

I was going to order a Lorenzo UDP but so far I haven't seen enough reason to get it. The second I get a battery light or shit starts turning off i'm doing it haha

The Lorenzo piece is an ODP (overdrive pulley) that goes on the alternator.

Dayco belts are fine in a industrial application, but not so much in automotive (serpentine to be specific) application. Dayco belts (and Goodyear IMO) tend to be noisy and wear much faster than Gates belts. They have a tendency to glaze quickly. This is based on personal experience with all three brands over the last 7 years.ZeroChad wrote:Why do the dayco belts suck?
The ones I got with the UDP look alright. We use the brand on a few industrial applications at work, they work fine there. Do they wear fast or something?

If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

It isn't that big a deal...just swap out the two belts with better ones, or use the two that come with it and cross your fingers you won't have to change them too soonDimas wrote:thas depressing to hear since thats what I get with the MPx , i especially hate weird dumb noises.

The dayco's that came with my UDP are squeeking when the power draw gets a little high, like headlights and rear defrost on at the same time. I have only had the UDP on for about 10000 - 15000 miles

you aren't going to be able to go to the gates website and look up the belts without having a cross reference belt.
the belts will be shorter than stock.

yea all those timed out or something so I looked up these.
http://www.gates.com/part_locator/index ... on_id=3002
I see they have blue for high performance, I would like to do it for timing belt, PS + A/C and Alt. i would like to do High performance but depends on price vs. standard, can anyone explain to me what this "interference engine application" mean??

Anyone with a UDP notice a difference in the steering at around 60+ mph?
I have..feels bumpier and a lil noticeably weaker I assume.
I will flush the fluid and maybe see if that helps. How do you change the fluid on that btw?

ok my next ?, the belts that they supply on MP and P/Ns (A/C & PS, Alternator) I'm guessing are different sizes than the stock ones right? Since apparently the dayco ones they apply are crap like you guys say, are there Gates ones that will fit?
My engine is vibrating horribly when I drive and I'm starting to get worried about it

ok now that I'm clear on that then, the timing belt has nothing to do with the UDP then so I can just get the reg. old blue timing belt for performance for the R/T right, the other P/Ns you gave should replace the dayco. Thanks on all the info guys I really appreciate heh, a lil wiser now lol...well not really but gettin there.
Also the Gates Hi Performance Timing belt for the 03 r/t is T245RB right?
