different size tires on 02 r/t wheels

Post by Panhead » Mon Feb 25, 2008 11:23 pm

i currently have 02 r/t wheels on my 03 se. roads are getting rough around my neck of the woods. i have the stock rs-a's which are pretty good tires in my book since they never left me strained after 3 1/2" of snow. anyway, i try to avoid the ruts and stuff. i've been going a different route everytime i go to center city bethlehem. i was just wondering if i can go a size bigger on my 16" wheels. i really hate to bend them so i want to see if i can go a size bigger. thanks.

When my car had its original wheels I put a set of 205/50/16's on them when the RS-A's wore out. IMO this size is a good upgrade, they look better on the car to because they fill the fender wells out a little more.

If you're going to be running on bad roads the 205/50 is a plus. A little more sidewall helps when you drive into a bomb crater pot hole.

There's lots of room for 205/50/16's with the stock struts, you'll have no problems. That size tire will clear everything with room to spare.
