Engine harness from 04 work on 03?
Bah, I feel bad for starting another wire harness topic, but I felt that this question was too different to put in the other topic. I've got a possible 2004 SRT engine wire harness that I can buy, but will it work with the 2003 SRT engine? I mean, with the injectors being different and all, would it be okay?
You guys are so smart

Well, here is what I come up with...
I didn't know if you needed to know about just the engine harness, or the engine bay harness, so I went with both.
'03 Engine harness part #5029302AE...MSRP $644.00
'04 Engine harness part #5030514AB...MSRP $204.00
Big difference in price! I do not know what makes them that different however.
'03 and '04 Engine bay harness (up to 10-06-03) part #5029303AC...MSRP $1335.00
'03 and '04 Engine bay harness (after 10-06-03) part #5029303AH...MSRP $1335.00
Again, what the actual differences or, I don't know, sorry.
So there is your info.

If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

I'm trying to think of any difference between '03 and '04 and I can't think of any
I'd have to compare PIN outs though...

Yeah, I was only concerned with the engine harness, not the bay, but WOW that is a big difference. I wonder what they changed.

Hmm I might buy this one, I just have to decide if it's worth $100, or if I should try to repair my existing harness.

I'd try to repair the existing harness.... Do you have it off the car ??yellowpatrol wrote:Hmm I might buy this one, I just have to decide if it's worth $100, or if I should try to repair my existing harness.
If it's already off the car, it's much easier to see what the problem is, and to fix it....

Yeah well I've got the 03 harness that came on the 03 engine, but a few of the wires have been snipped. What's the proper way to fix that type of thing?

Dude for $200 I might just buy a brand new one, I don't even think it's worth the time and effort to repair it, and then not know if it will crap out on me. If I do that, I'll let you know if they are interchangeable
EDIT: Here's pics of mine:

^totally chopped the hell off

^busted connector

I know it. They must have pulled the engine out of the car in under 10 minutes. I think I'll be heading to the dealer here pretty soon for a new harness.

I was watching one that was from an 04, which is what sparked this whole thread, but that one ended up selling somewhere around 150 plus shipping I believe. Not to mention it was used. At that rate I may as well buy new. I will keep watching though in case there are any other deals.

You might be able to fix that buy splicing some of the plugs and wires off your Neon harness onto that. I had to do that on mine since the horn, washer bottle motor, and corner lights were torn off so I cut them of my Neon harness and soldered it onto the SRT harness.
