New Car Smell

Post by Adionik » Thu Feb 28, 2008 2:36 am

Anything i can spray in my car to make it smell better?

My car smells like a wet cat pissed all over the place and then invited all the other wet cats to piss on the seats.

jk

But seriously I sat in my mom's car the other day and got high for a few minutes. I know the new car smell is mostly from the new plastics and interior pieces but any brand get CLOSE to it?

My car can't seem to retain smells either. I'll spray Fierce like 20 times and it'll just soak into the seats.

That stuff is great! My favorite is the leather scent. Makes the car smeel like it has freash leather all the time. I just ordered me some more due to I used one(new car) and then sold the remaining to different people since they liked it to. it is easy to get hooked on these.

I found this out on accident.
I borrowed a car for a month and couldn't figure out why it smelled so good all the time! Before I returned it, I detailed the whole thing and I found a box of "Snuggle" dryer sheets under the seat. The owner didn't even know they were there but it smelled phenomenal.

I now stock a box in my car and each month I just put the top sheet in the bottom of the box and leave it partially open.

When I bought my car last summer both the passenger compartment and trunk reeked.

First thing I did was toss all the left over junk the previous owner had left in the vehicle, then I cleaned it up... vacuum, shampoo, vacuum again, and wiped down all hard surfaces. That took the worse of it out but there was still a lingering smell.

I purchased the largest box of baking soda I could find, cut it open, and placed it on the floor near the rear seat area and forgot about it. It wasn't long before the interior became odorless.

Once the odorless state has been achieved then you can work on achieving that new car smell. If you run with rubber floor mats then consider purchasing new ones... the new ones will emit a certain amount of that "new car smell" for a while.

Folgers Coffee no bull, I left the window in my neon open when it was raining and when it dried up it stunk real bad. Got a cup off Folgers coffee, not mixed and ready just the powder and put it in the center over night. Next day threw out the coffee and smell was gone. Try it!
