Brake Caliper Replacement (fyi)

Post by Flying_NEB » Sat Mar 01, 2008 2:11 am

I have a 2000 neon and had a caliper seize up on me. Since Firestone wanted $600 for a brake overhaul (new roters/pads/calipers and fluid flush) I decided to do it myself.

Long story short, I found out that they upgraded the front calipers sometime between 2000 and 2005. The old brake line won't fit with the new caliper. I went to a junk yard and got lines from a car there but I don't know what year it was.

This is just an fyi that if you're simply replacing your calipers with new ones, you'll have to get a brake line too. The dealer wants $30 a peice, I got mine for $20 total at the yard.

Good to know, if you get reman. ones, open the boxes to be sure they match. May as well keep both sides the same... or not.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.
