Not too bad. Was a little worried by the first picks, but looks like it came out ok. Did you place all of the components in the pass. air bag compartment?

Is that a touch screen? B/C that would be badass! What did you use for a power supply is it 12VDC or is it converted off a power inverter?

Holy bondo dust! That has to be fun to clean! Should be pretty cool when you get it finished. The only thing that I would hope is that the screen lasts a long time!

its really a 3d mouse
i gatta get this software to be able to use it as a regular mouse so i can set keys mute high low volume and stuff easier while driving.

for those that think this is impractical and or stupid i dissagree
purely becuase i hate making cd and dvds and blah got a 160 gig hd just for music and video dont gatta worry about scrathing or looking for cds

also i get lost alot ..... looked a gps units they go for like 150 - 700 for a new good system
i got eh the screen for 100 (its a samsung lcd) and then the gps reviecer and software like 70 bucks more now i have a great gps software that is very accurate and all that good stuff.

now granted i went a lil over board with the size of the screen (i didnt relieaze that it was so big)
a 7-8 screen is nice also but i like to play my dvds and watch a big tv esp when i play ps2.

this took me 2 weeks to build and get ti to where it is now. for right now this is the final product since im running out of time before i go back to work and i havent had a good night sleep in a month. plus its really cold right now so yea.

the computer is hooked up to a power inverter.
the way i hooked it up was i hooked up the + cable to a always live wire. so when i turn of the car i dont have to wait till the computer is done shutting down. you can begin the shut down and turn you key off and its timed almost perfectly.
some of you may think well your batter is ganna die. no it wont hopfully. because it has a bult in power limiter so when the volt gets to 10 v it tunn off automatically.

i honestly dont want to clean that dust its a bitch imma go to the washer tommer but so far its the best serfice

Man don't worry about what anybody says, I LIKE it....hell if I could figure out how to do it like that I'd do it too

But I can't find the components as cheap as you did

It is something along the lines of what I eventually would like to do... What I think people (and myself) mean by wanting to see it done, is that it looks like it actually was manufactured that way... clean... not like it was thrown in... like it was meant to be there in the first place.

One other thing that would be really cool is to have it integrated into the ECU of the car so that you could have digital gauges and monitor your engine's processes.....

yea now i understand what yall mean factory ill try my best but for now thats the best i can do cuz of my schedual and stuff.
i knew i wasnt done the bezel for sure and then i gatta get both sides done.
but best thing about it is that i dont have glare from the sun.

right now i am about to lose one more vent because the one from the window is bad ass strong. so i can mount the mother board in a way that i can open and close my glove box( i need on by the way so you got one cheap hook me up)

and habit because ive been bangin( being what i am ) for so long well atleast repping it that its hard now that i am more mature that i choose to not subject others into my world. dont get me wrong im proud to be what i am. but suttle ways sometimes are louder then being all out there.

also one thing i would recommend is higher wattage inverter a 300watt is barely cutting it.
and a deep cycle battery two if you can i think that will help the alternator out

It doesn't matter as much where you're from, it's what you become that matters. The fact that you took this project on says alot. As far as the finished look, possibly covering the sides with some Naugahyde (fake leather for those that are thinking nawga WTF?) that matches the dash might be the easiest solution to make it look "factory". Just a suggestion, it's your project. I figured if you weren't open to suggestions/comments you wouldn't have posted. Having it in the dash is definitely a space saver, as we need as much of that in our cars. Get some rest, take your time.
