 It is getting harder and harder to find good counter help, as I'm sure BRR can attest to as well.

Just out of curiosity, which dealer was it? I worked in MD for years before I moved out here.

Just use the Mag screws in their place. You may want to buy two longer screws from the hardware, and cut the heads off to use as guide studs to ease installation, then remove them, and put the normal screws in once it is postioned.
Otherwise you will be trying to keep the gasket lined up, while holding the IM in place, starting the screws. Not impossible, but why struggle?

So I would need to get 8 of the pn#6506575AA

Why would they charge so much for the "outer 2". And just to clarify totla of what Im gonna need

-4648623AB gasket for the runners to the head (need 1)

-4884067AB gasket that goes inbetween plenum & butterflies / runners
(need 1)

-6506575AA runners to head screws (need 8)

-6102041AA Screws for the runner to the plenum (need 5)

-6101221 Screws for the actuator (need 2)

I think my screw for my original map sensor will be ok unless they are different for plastic mani. Also I need the gasket for the map sensor also not sure if its different from my origininal plastic one.

Thanks

Sounds right.

The MAP sensor screws are different, IIRC.

One of the Magnum IM threads has the size needed. You can really get all the screws needed at a hardware store.

If I get time tonight, I can measure what I do have. There may be a post already with most of the sizes. I think the diameter is M6 x 1.00 pitch, but the lengths IDK.

Edit:

For the IM to head screws, measure how far past the plastic ones are from the gasket surface, then just add the thickness of the R/T flange to that. That should give you the proper thread depth into the head.

I edited above. The two outer ones are studs. Prolly impossible to match exactly, besides being metric. You would also need nuts and washers to go with those. The closest thing I can think of, off hand is some waterpump pulley attaching studs for a mitsubishi 2.6 ?

Like I said, you don't have to have those two studs. The regular bolts will work fine.

OK, the Mag IM flange is about 12mm thick, so a 30 to 35mm long M6 x 1.00 thread pitch should do it. If you can find threaded rod, you could cut it to length, and loc-tite the end in the head. Or find a stud that has about 25mm long threads on one end, and enough to go through the IM flange, plus some to install a nylock nut and washer. The amount unthreaded in the center of the stud could be up to 10mm.

25mm is prolly a better fit for IM to head screws. 30mm is too close to bottoming.

Hope now that you have the IM, it is a little more clear that the outer studs are not 100% necessary. They are mainly for ease of installation.

I would only go with a light or medium strength Loctite. 242 at the most, but IDK if it is really needed. If you went with the studs, then yes, only to keep them from backing out, when the nuts are loosened.
