Dry No2 systems.

Post by TN.Frank » Sat Mar 15, 2008 6:27 pm

Ok, I understand how the wet systems work, extra fuel and No2 gets pumped into the intake and you get extra power. I know the dry systems only pump in the No2 and the PCM richens up the injectors to add the extra fuel BUT wouldn't there be a split second where the mixture would be lean with a dry system until the O2 sensor can send a singnal to the PCM to tell it to richen things up? It seems that a dry system would be a lot easier to install since you've only got to hook up one solinoid for the No2. Would the stock injectors and fuel pump be good enough for a 75 shot of No2 in a dry system? Anyway, thanks in advance for any answers.

Yes a dry shot would be easier to hook up, but it's harder on the motor because you aren't giving it fuel. Also being that you aren't putting in the mixture of fuel the computer may or may not add fuel. Being that it is an ngc car I wouldn't and wet shots give you more power. I'd stick with a wet shot to avoid detenation....

From what I've been reading on the net a dry shot will give it fuel but thru injector enrichment instead of directly thru the No2 nossle. I just wonder how quickly the NGC system will detect the lean contition and enrich the injectors. I know some systems do it automatically at WOT. I guess a wet system would be a lot safer even if it'd be a little harder to rig up.

It wont work as well as a wet shot, and a wet shot isn't even hard to hook up.

I know if I go with a wet shot I'll need a new fuel rail so I'll have a take off point for the fuel line for the solinoid for the system. The stock fuel rail doesn't have one. Other then that I can have a buddy of my nephew's hook it up since he hooked up a 250 shot to my nephew's drag car.

Man, go to the J-yard and get a fuel rail for like $15. All you need is the little shrader valve on the end of your rail. Even if you have an early build 05 you'll have one.

There that one is $20 with $7 shipping, and it has the valve you need on it.

+1 junkyard fuel rail, and then you can run the fuel line to your solenoid from that. Then all you need to wire up is a WOT switch, an arming switch, and of course install the bottle, and No2 feed line.

Go with the wet kit, its super easy, and fairly safe in small shots.

That would be pretty sweet. Of course the No2 will only go on after I do a few other things(Comp 200, UDP, header with cat delete, lighten flywheel and clutch kit, ect.) then I'll add the REAL power adder to bring it all together.
