1st gen to 2nd gen
can i swap a first gen motor and tranny into my 2gen?

the first gen engine is a DOHC. Simple answer, NO. If you want it to be a bolt in thing to get the car back on the road quick, it will not work. It is FAR from an easy bolt in job.
Easiest thing would be to rebuild your current engine, or get a new one from a 2nd gen. or atleast a 96 or newer SOHC.

Basically. The DOHC swap is rather involved. You can use any SOHC engine/head from 96+. Just make sure the EGR port on the head is blocked (your head probably has a block off plate bolted on) and use all the sensors and wiring that are in your car right now.
