Choosing New Head Lights
Ok well I have a 2001 Ply Neon, and it has stock head lights, I want to get differents because recently I just bought euro smoke altezza tail lights and you know I want the head lights to be smoke as well, or well dark. I was wondering in your professional opinion what would you recommend. Projectors or TYC euro racing head lights?
My friend told me not to even mess with the head lights because aftermarket head lights suck..so not to waste my money...soo....idk yet..

I do not htink they suck, I have a set of aftermarket projectors, and they do not leak, no fogging, and they have great light output... you could always go with some new stock ones, or even the racoon style lights... those are sexy.

what is wrong with the stock headlights?
1) there free and already installed in your car.
2)They don't blind on coming traffic like aftermarket.

I think he wants something "schnazy" to brighten up the front end... my stock lights were so fogged over the light was dimmed.

Andrew, How long have you had your after market head lights on your car?......I would like to travel down the after market road myself, but I don't want to be in the same boat with foggy head lights in a few years. If you know what I mean. Thanks for your input.kc2002acr wrote:I do not think they suck, I have a set of aftermarket projectors, and they do not leak, no fogging, and they have great light output...
Crystal, I'll take it from you looking into new headlights that you didn't have much luck with the PlastX. Is it because of the inside of the headlights rather than the exterior? Good luck with your decision and keep us posted on the results.

Andrew hasnt had them on for a long time. Glasswars has had aftermarket projectors for a while. He said he had some problems with condensation but he added more liquid silicone to them to get a better seal.

Anyway, on with the thread. I have aftermarkets on my 02 and one does fog a bit but the other is perfectly fine. If they do fog its easy enough to seal it off and for the most part they look a lot better. I'd say go for the racoon style lights over projectors.

I was referring to the thread starter sup3rn0th1ng = Crystal and I wasn't trying to confuse you, SteelBlue = Crystal.
I mentioned to sup3rn0th1ng about a product I used awhile back to clear up my headlights from Meguiars called PlastX. Anyway I'm sorry if there was any confusion. But Thank you for your input about your first hand experience, as is will help me in my decision SteelBlue = Crystal.

meguairs plastix works great, i used it on my 02s headlights because i replaced one a while back, and it was more hazy then the other. I recommend using an electric polisher, i used a simoniz 4" random orbit, and after about 20 minutes, i could really see a difference in the two lights. I found i had a lot of crap inside my lights too, so i decided to wash the housing out with oxy-clean, which also helped clean the lights up, but required me to give them another rinse with spotless dish rinse agent so there were no waterspots left inside the light.
Sooner or later ill order the racoons, and then go to work on converting these stockers, to some retrofitted hids!
