Calling PA drivers/ Knowledgeable People

Calling all PA drivers who have tinted tails. Has anyone Ever been shot down on inspection time because they tinted their THIRD brake light. I keep hearing stories of people failing because of the third taillight although i cant understand why since i thought at least as long as your two main taillights where functionally the third didnt matter. Can anyone help me in this area

You can take it off if you wanted to, If you have one though it does need to work but as long as light comes through the slightest you should be good.

if i take it off i wont have a replacement one to put on can they fail me for that lol light comes through i believe although ive never seen my car brake ill check tomorrow well today

I believe federal law is that you need to have two working tail lights.

Never had a problem with my tinted 3rd brake light as far as inspection and such. as long as the bulb works and light comes out, I don't see a problem.

From what i know pa requires every light to be working that is on the car even if you already have 2 brake lights if its there it needs to work and cannot be obstructed

it depends on who inspects you. the way it basically goes is that if the car is equipped with it, it still needs to work. my car recently passed inspection and i later noticed my third brake light is completely out. the guy who inspected me however forced me to remove my license plate bracket so really its a hit or miss thing.

btw as far as i know there are no federal driving regulations, its all state orientated. for example i don't think Kentucky even has inspections

ill just have to rfemove the tint from the third light for now just to be certain its pretty black lol
