Well last night I bought a gecko with my girlfriend. It is officially me and my girls pet. His name is Gus. I am not sure if it is a boy or a girl yet as it is too young to sex. He is cool as hell so far though. They say that for the first week or two they are shy, won't move much, and won't eat all that much until they get use to their new home. But he was moving around a little tonight so I snapped some pics. Let me know what you think of the little guy! I love him. He is awesome. I can't wait to be able to hold him for a little bit.
His cage set up. A couple hides and his water and food dish. I have to make and put in his "shedding hide" yet. Which is what I am working o now
Close up
Even closer up
Let me know what you think of the little guy!
The korny one and his new little buddy.

sweet!!, i have a fat tailed. i'll snap some pics and post them.
EDIT
what are you useing for bedding, heating pad? heres a tip, the beding needs to be atleast 1/2" thick and you need to have a hot and cold side of the tank. the cold side should be where the water goes. the hot side should have the heating pad and heat lamp. you may also want to add a big think tree branch and some plants. other then that you're set!!

Well. I am using paper towling. As they said that is the best for babies as he can't eat it and won't die from it. They said that it is the best even when he is grown up. I have the heating pad under the tank on the cold side actually. It takes up about 3/4 of the tank. I have it over there becuase it was already pretty warm on teh hot side as the tank is right next to my heater for my living room and with the light it is at about 90. The cold side is closer to my door going to the hall of my apt so it is colder over there. The reason I have the light over the water side is because I am having a problem with humidity. It is only at like 40% I have cups of water on my living room heater and soem water cups around my place trying to bring the humidity up. And the light over the water definitaly helped. And I don't really have much room for plants or anything else in there. A leopard gecko is a desert gecko so he doens't really like all that stuff I have read. I am on a gecko forum(lame I know haha) and they said my set up was fine. Thanks for the tips and the compliments.

nice little leopard you have there! take care of him and he will grow up big and strong, lol.
i love reptiles (fish and amphibians, too). i don't have any currently but i used to have two bearded dragons and a fat-tail gecko. they all liked to 'play' together, believe it or not! my g/f has a bearded right now that is getting pretty big.
g/l with your new lil buddy.

I have to fat tailed leopard geckos in a 20 gal long tank, they grew fast! But yeah, hot side and cold side is a must, mine spend the majority of the time in the middle, but move to the hot and cold side throughout the night. What are you feeding them?

Yup I have a hot and cold side. I am feeding them crickets and meal worms dusted in calcium powder. And I hope they grow fast.
I think I am going to move the heating pad to the side with the light and move the water dish to the cold side. But man am I having a problem with humidity. 30-40 during the day/night. I have water dishes on my heater in my living room. ANy ideas anyone?!?!?!

You won't need constant humidity. In other words the whole tank doesn't need a high humidity level, just an area it can get to for moisture.
The shed box or hide (on the cool side of tank) should have a moss type substrate which you can spray on a daily basis to keep moist (and alive).
When covered it will hold the moisture for most of a 24hr period.
The gecko wil know where to go for moisture on instinct in a day or two.
This simulates morning moisture or a damp cave enviroment that they encounter in the wild for cooling.
You must replace the moss when it gets soiled however because it will breed bacteria if gone unchecked for too long.
They will grow fast that's for sure. It'll be damn near full grown in a year depending how often you feed it (I fed mine all the time).
when it gets full grown you can feed it pinky mice and any bugs you can get, even other lizards from outside (just medicate for parasites if you do).
Good job getting the calcium powder, juveniles seem very suseptable to bone malformities which the powder will help to prevent. Went through a few geckos before I learned this. Ooops!
Used Reptivite from then on for everybody (had quite a collection then) and no more issues.
When it gets bigger you can get a calcium sand substrate for the tank to replace the paper towels.
Looks more natural, easy to clean, and in the morning you can see all the little feetprints it made at night!
They're cool little critters!

Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of the car. Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you're going when you hit the wall, and torque is how far you drag the wall with you.
