Back Seat Trouble

Post by GreeNeons03 » Fri Mar 21, 2008 8:15 pm

I'm installing my new Stock Kicker system and everything was going great until I tried to take the back seat back off and out. I can get the 4 bolts that hod it in place to budge. I'm using a breaker bar and even have a pipe on the end to give me more leverage and I can't get it to budge. Anyone have an easier way?

its only 2 bolts torx 55's where the seatbelts are bolted in at the bottom. I am almost 100% sure of that but could be wrong.

it is 4 torx bolts than you lift up on the back seat and pull it right out

Man I need to use spell check. I can't get the 4 bolts off. I threaded the wires under the seat back though using one of those fishing line thingys.

to get those bolts loose .. you need a 1/2 inch breakover bar ... with about a 2 foot handle ... and a quality torx bit (or buy one from autozone so you can return it when you are done breakin... i mean removing the back seat)

they are on quite tight ... if i had to guess i would say 80 to 120ft/lb but maybe higher then that ... i have sheared the head off of one before trying to get it undone with a 4 foot cheater pipe ...

The thing that really makes it hard is the fact that their at an angle, not vertical or horizontal.

I used an eight inch wrench. Had to basically jump on the damn thing but it eventually came out. I don't ever use the backseat so I'm not worried about putting them back in so tight. Don't even have the seatbelts in there now.
