Possibly the best neon mod ever!

Post by ZeroChad » Wed Mar 26, 2008 4:17 pm

So I was walking back from my electronics lab today and saw a 2gn parked nearby. Wasn't really out of my way so I walked by it to check it out. The closer I got, the more crappy it looked. Man, some people don't know how to take car of their cars.
Image

As I got to the front fender I just couldn't stop laughing. Most of the drivers side fender was gone, revealing what looked like a mopar cold air intake. Whats great though is that the must have thought the filter shouldn't be exposed to anything including air. I introduce to you, the AEM waterlock system.

Image

I was half tempted to fill it up with water, but I figured the rain would do that eventually. I should go back out there and take the bucket off LOL.

That's awesome! I wonder if the bucket was added after the damage? If so, they really didn't think that one through :beatstick:

Just so everyone knows, I will paint the buckets to match the cars paint...for just $25.00 more

Oh yeah, if you want drain holes (but who would, I mean really!) I can do that for $5.00.

I wonder if there's a little kid underneath the car somewhere as well, or a toy shovel. My only explanation for that is that he must have run over a kid playing in the dirt somewhere and the bucket got hung up on his intake.

This reminds me of a letter a reader sent in to a car mag I read. Someone recommended to the guy that he should get a port and polish on his intake and exhaust. So what he did with a friend was get a bag of sandblasting sand and hooked it up to his intake and let his engine suck it in. He says that after about half the back was gone "the check engine light came on and the engine started bucking and kicking and sounding really weird." He said that they turned off the engine, disconnected the sand and hooked everything back up and tried to start it, surprisingly it started but, "once started it couldn't idle and kept making weird noises. We took it out and drove it and it started to make scraping and knocking noises." I swear, people are just idiots. Research people! Research!

Dude now that I look at it, I think the bucket has holes (for water) in it. Maybe this person isn't AS stupid as we thought.
