Swap is done and car is running good (besides the damn control arm bolts). My dome light does not work. I read a post that nighthawk wrote about the door ajar being different. Can anyone be a little more specific? I would like to take care of this tomorrow.
BTW no cel codes. My abs and airbag lights are on though. Who needs them though
Lastly my control arm bolt on the driver side would not move (on my 01 r/t). We soaked it in wd40, took a torch to it, used a breaker bar and it wont budge. The passenger side is kind of messed up. You can loosen it about 1/4 of a turn then its impossible to move again. We were afraid to keep trying and snap it off. I dont even know how you could fix something like that if it broke. Im taking it an auto repair shop tomorrow to see what they say. I want the srt control arms in, but I would settle for them fixing the passenger side to stop the clunk I get when I hit the gas hard in first gear.

I had the same issue when I did my swap at first. I remember tapping into a thin pink wire. It's been a real long time and I have swapped in a SRT-4 Dash harness in since but look at the pink wire coming out of the 3 connectors under the dash. You should see that on one side there is nothing going to it so the done light gets no power if I remember correctly.

Hay Hay
If you still have your stock harness look at the driver door that should be a brown wire and the other are a blue wire with a tracer but I am not sure of the tracer color if it get warm this week we might get to it

I will tackle this in the next couple of weeks. Right now I need to get my control arms situation taken care of, install the side skirts, put in the original springs, and then I should have time for it.

I tapped the solid pink wire under the carpet running along the drivers side, fed it 12v through a switch mounted under the dash.
I never did like the stock operation of the light anyway.
This pink wire also supplies power to the trunk light, but only comes on when the trunk is open and my switch is on.

I didnt swap the srt-4 dash harness. I kept the 01 r/t harness, but swapped the srt-4 body, trunk, and engine/bay harnesses. How does the r/t tell when the doors are opened. How does the srt-4 tell if the doors are open? I want to get mine working again, and I dont want a separate switch to turn it on. I want my dome light to turn on when I open the doors.
What do I tap the pink wire into? I will post a writeup with pics if I can get this working.

If the SRT/RT are the same as the rest of the Neons, the dome is activated by the door latch, the same way the trunk light is via the trunk latch. The warning chime for the lights/key in is also tied to the latches.
Edit: as far as the control arms, there is no real advantage to the srt's. IIRC there is a sticky somewhere comparing them. Did you have any luck with getting them off yet?

I spliced into the pink wire under the driver side kick panel & ran a piece of 4 ft wire from that up to the driver side windshield pillar , under it there is about 3 black wires & all have color stripe on them , I taped the black/purple & the dome light works , my neon is a 2000 so I don't know if the wire is in all years or not but it's easy to check & see.

Yes & mine works fine unlock & locks the doors , I don't think that has anything to do with your dome light though , good luck.

Dave seriously use some periods. Your posts are impossible to read. Not trying to be mean, but I actually skip your posts on this forum because I have a hard time reading them.
