haven't had a chance to open it up and see how much better the new compound is over the old Z1s I had on my SRT. Should be awesome though.

Nice tires. I believe the traction rating goes up to AA. But thats for wet and slippery conditions. That little red dot... I believe thats where the valve stem should be when they mount the tire. I work at a tire shop and I remember being told to do so. Some cars have a white or green mark too. Helps out with the balancing, so when you balance it takes less weight.

These tires have all 3 color dots and they put the valve steam where the green dot is.

These tires are the updated version of the Sport Z1s I had on the SRT. The new compound really makes a difference. They unseated the Bridgestone RE01R as the best all around Extreme Performance tire (TireRack) and did something I didnt think was possible and put down faster times on a dry track than the Advans.

So far the are well worth the money. I'm breaking them in, but the few corners Ive taken, I've gotten the car 10mph faster through the apex and I'm not even really pushing it.

Thanks bro. I have a feeling that I won't win though. Some Caliber SRT or 1gen or Charger or something Mopar will probably win since I drive a stupid Import.

I realy like the new car. I think it looks too much like a subaru though but I still like it.

They should have put the valve stem at the white spot. One thing to look at is if there is a ton of weights on the wheel positioned exactly across from the valve stem then they put it in the wrong spot.

Unless they did a static balance (Weights only on the outside edge of wheel) then all bets are off. I will add that if they did that I would take it back and make them do it again and demand a dynamic balance. If they try to tell you they can't then I wouldn't even trust them to touch me wheels. That and if there is weights in two different places on the same side of the wheel I would also make them do it again. But then again I worked at a tire shop and I'm a little anal about my tire/wheel balancing.

I'm surprised you like the Dunlop's so much. I once spent almost two hours trying to get a set of direzza's to balance out. Worst tire I ever tried to balance. Micheline is the only tire I have ever mounted that when positioned correctly didn't need any weights. The only thing worse then Dunlop's are Goodyear.

there's like 1 weight on the inside of each wheel, i'm not worried about it.

How hard a tire is to balance < Performance

so with that said I love Dunlop.

How's your handling compared to stock? You've added lowering springs and wider tires? Was there much improvement?

Springs, Sways, Lighter/Wider Rims, and Wider Better Tires.

Handling Difference = Night and Day.

The real test is the next autocross event.

The front wheels actually gain camber when you turn the wheel right or left due to the suspension not being mounted 100% vertical. The wheels rotate a degree or so along the horizontal axis. So since the rear camber is static, the front will match in mid corner. The outside wheel will gain negative camber, while the inside wheel will loose its negative camber and possibly even have positive camber. Both wheels will lean in the direction of the turn, which is the way its suppose to be. Depending on how hard the corner is, the front of the car will have more negative camber than the rear and both tires will be on camber.

At least thats what I remember from my road racing days.

Had the exhaust worked on today. Removed the second resonator and the muffler and pulled the tip out a bit. Similar to what Neonix did with her MS3 when she had it.

Nice! Plan on getting her dynod?

Also, are these cars as susceptible to boost leaks as the NSRT's?

Boost Leaks? nope not really. Most people have issues with the stock ByPass Valve not holding boost, thats why I have the Forge unit. There isnt a cheap cluster of vacuum lines like there was in the NSRT. No Zip Ties needed.

I plan to get it dyno'd someday. Lujan motorsports moved and I haven't heard anything about them in awhile. Noone in my area has a dyno, and I don't know the Tampa Market very well.
