noob cam question

Post by c987long » Sun Mar 30, 2008 8:18 pm

ok first off i know nothing about cams, looked throught the threads and didnt find what i was looking for---
anyways

i want to put a new cam into mt 01 R/t i dont know where to start, i just want to put the cam in, i really dont want to have to change out the valve springs and the retainers, i think i got the right parts named. I just dont know where to start, i have looked at crane cams.com and my head started to spin..

thanks for the input

since you have the rt you should be able to handle a more agressive cam than a non rt

putting in the comp 200 wouldn't really be worth it since you already have the magnum cam i would look at the comp 400

With the R/T you have the better valve springs so you could go Comp 400 or even Crane #14 if you want too.

the comp 400 was designed specifically for the r/t. it's designed around the stock r/t rev limiter, etc. unless you're going to do a bunch engine work, etc it's hard to go wrong. lots of people have said that you'll see a big difference in normal driving. do a search and you'll see what i mean.
ooh...there's a glimmer of the dream left!!!
