Boost Gauge Questions

Post by bdmski » Tue Apr 08, 2008 2:07 am

I just swapped over SRT-4 gauges in preparation of doing an engine swap. I wanted to put in the boost gauge in there next. I got a few questions.

1. I wanted to swap the backlight to blue to match my cluster. It's a type 194 bulb right? Is it pretty strait forward to swap?

2. Can I disconnect the vacuum hose until I get the engine put in, and only have the backlight function? Is the light cable hook up to something under the dash or am I going to have to cut some wires for my non srt?

Thank you!

#1 idk.

#2 the srt dash harness has aplug for the boost gauge light wiring. You might as well connect the gauge prior to the swap, all you need to do is splice into a vacuum line. Of course, you won't read positive pressure, but you'll still read vacuum with it.

1. yes
2. you nwill need to run the wires for the lights and will need to get a hose or tube run through the firewall to a vacuum source...but you don't bneed to hook that up until after the swap
