Confusion with Toyo Proxes 4

Post by tommigun » Thu Apr 10, 2008 4:30 am

Okay so I've been all over the Internet looking for an answer but haven't come up with an exlusive one. A few places list the Toyo Proxes 4 as an all-season tire, but some list it as a summer tire. Also, according to the Finnish rep of Toyo, the tires aren't M+S rated so they wouldn't be legal during winter. However I've found some sites that list them as M+S rated. Could someone kind enough who's running them or knows the real truth tell me if the tires have that M+S rating or not? My plans need to be changed quite a bit if they are just plain old summer tires. Thanks in advance.

We have really crappy winters nowdays so I want tires I can run all year. 2 weeks of snow and you still have to use winter tires for five months... stupid laws. :) But back to the original topic, are the Toyo Proxes 4 M+S?

Okay, I think the Finnish Toyo rep doesn't know a thing about what tires he's selling, I just went to toyo.com and they among others list the Proxes 4 as a M&S rated tire. Guess I'll be ordering my tires from Germany then. The Finnish rep would probably sell me 4 left side tires or something as smart.

Thanks for the information. I'm sure glad I don't have to change my plans even if that Toyo repesentative gave me bad news. :)

There is a Toyo Proxes 4 and a Toyo Proxes FZ4! The Proxes 4 has a slightly more aggressive tread pattern vs the Proxes FZ4!

I have the Proxes 4s and love em. Ive got a pair of FZ4s but they are an odd size. 205/45/16s. Too short for a 2gn.
