i was thinking of competing in the bracket class as it's the only thing that I might have a chance at. No way could I compete in Street Wars. It all depends on how the car performs. I'm gonna try, (again), to get some runs in this Friday at Sparta. Last 2 times I tried to go it got rained out.

And to think with that MPH in a RWD car you would be sitting right around an 11.10

ya i agree u need more MPH for FWD then RWD but this was also with a moderate launch and not using the 2step or flatshifting. when we can actually launch hard the times should get a fair bit better...racer12306 wrote:And to think with that MPH in a RWD car you would be sitting right around an 11.10

That is fast really fast everybody who says it isnt probably keeps their 10 second in the mental garage.
From what I remember GM J-body(Grand Am I think) u-joints can be made to work and are just strong enough to last without transferring undue stress to harder to change at the track parts. That is with turbo dodge axles they may or may not work for neon axles.

There is the PT/Shadow axle upgrade, and the 2gn neon axle upgrade. You have to get 2gn neon spindles pressed into the 1gn hub. It works fairly well. How much PSI is in your tires? Also, seems like your burnouts aren't getting hot enough, I'm not seeing much smoke come from the tires.

So many neons so little time.

ya 10-9's would be nice but im really happy with mid 11's! trust me when ur doing almost 120 at the end of the track still getting pulled into the seat its a nice feeling!! as far as 8's lol DCR couldnt even do 8's with a street car i dont think we ever could. I wish but I think we will leave the world records to the big guys lolBlackRoseRacing wrote:you need to break 10's to be impressive, you need to hit 9's to start scaring people...if you hit the 8's, you will be dominant for a street car!
ya should be able to get alot better times when we can start beating on it and not having to worry about axles. as far as driver errors. this was the first time out with a basically totally different car. perfection after driving the car once isnt going to happen and if it did i dont think drag racing would be nearly as much fun as it isBlackRoseRacing wrote:not bad for granny shifting![]()
you need an atx to fix the drivers errors....

thanks man! I think people seeing 8 even 7 second cars on TV have made people think that a mid 11 second car is slow when in reality most people havent even gone into the 15's. heck the first time i hit 14's my hands were shaking because of how fast it felt compared to all the other cars ive driven ie my 16 second 2gen lol ya theres a couple options we have as far as axles. I think we are going to pick up some DSS stage 5s and call it a day. weith stage 5s we wont have to worry about breaking them even down the road when we go big turbo

about 10-12 psi in the tires. we only did small burnout because asoon as we did fairly good ones we broke an axle...

I'm only raggin on ya
I'm actually quite impressed with how the car came out.I should have not gotten rid of the 1GN I had a few weeks back I may have taken my R/T off the road and done something drastic to it......ok, maybe not......
Keep up the good work
As for the burnout before launch, I think you guys were doning fine since you were not spinning the tires off the line, which means the slicks were sticky enough for you and you did not need to smoke them up....

ya for sure. although the axles we are getting are the DSS stage 5's which cost $1800 new (we arent buying them new) so now the axles are the expensive parts lolbone-yard-racing wrote:Watch it with the really strong axles you will start to break expensive things and more to the point things you cant change in 10 minutes
