Post by rseldner » Wed Apr 16, 2008 11:09 am

i came across this stuff while strolling through home depot. http://www.sabrefix.co.uk/products_plas ... .php?id=46
its metal lath for stucco. i bought a sheet to see if i could make my own grill. here's sort of what it will look like. What do u guys think? I might try painting them black. I also need to figure out a way to mount the top piece.

i know exactly what that stuff is. I would have gone with gutter guard instead. It's a little thicker and the mesh is just a bit closer together.

the gutter guard i've seen has the mesh closer together...but its way thinner and flimsy. gotta keep my eyes open for some better quality stuff.

I have the apc mesh in my body kit. I paid 20 bucks a sheet....cuz I'm dummmmmbbbb hahah. But it looks alot better imo and didn't like fade away like the gutter gaurd did. The apc mesch is still nice and shiney. My gudder gaurd lost its luster after a bit. And I didn't like that.

How'd you mount it up? I thought about taking out my grille bar and putting in mesh but wasn't sure how to mount it up.

i used the screws the little OEM chrome grill thing gets held on by for the upper grill... you can see the screws a lil bit but its not too bad... im having trouble figuring out how to do the bottom spaces though.... i was thinking about possibly taking the whole front bumper off and using silicone or something to hold the bottom grill on but im not sure yet.... :( anyone have any ideas...?

weird, i bought a pre-cut pack of gutter guard and the mesh was much closer together. It came in a 3 pack with pieces that were about 3 feet long.

still, it looks great for home depot grill.

yeah thats another issue. Gutter guard tends to tarnish after a while.
