browsing ebay, found an iphone alternative...

whatcha think?, i watched some of the youtube reviews and demonstrations, looks pretty badass, uses the 1900 band so shouldnt be a problem here in the states,, was thinking about getting it for my att.. swap sim and go....... for about a 140 not too shabby... but you would lack tech support, but i googled and found a bunch of forums for this phone..

i dont know alot about the iphone or its features to compare firsthand, but im VERY VERY tempted to try it out....

another very similiar but it has the keypad, so texting might be easier.. the frst one you can use the stylus on a on screen keyboard, or just write the text in your own handwriting and it recognizes......

It seems a little sketchy to me. Never heard of the brand. Looks decent and for the price its great.

my buddy bought one, and immediately sold it, he hated it.

I compared it to my iPhone.........not even close.

Well, for all the iphone lacks it is still better than its cheaper competition.

I've had an iphone since it came out and have had a lot of problems with them and I still have it so it must be doing something right...

really?, what did he hate about it so much?, did he hate it all on its own?, or because it didnt compare to your iphone? i personally have no intention of spending 400+ on an iphone.. and i dont use my phone for internet... this looks like it would be a decent cheap upgrade to my little slider phone for a large screened multimedia phone w/ pda features..

i was actually looking at blackberrys on ebay becuase of the pda stuff and keyboard.. and thats when i saw the ones i posted above.. only thing i see is the blackberrys dont have a camera which isnt too big a deal, but i do vid msg sometimes with friends back north.. im gonna have to check out some berry specs, but i know the berrys are more geared to email/business stuf and not multimedia.. vid/pics/music etc...

I realize you want the look, etc, otherwise you would be looking at MANY other phones, the clone is just bulky, slow, and irritating to use, the interface is NOTHING like the iPhone, it is just WAY easier to navigate (iPhone) and the clone one would freeze up on him when attempting a simple task such as using a calculator. Pretty sad, so he put it back on ebay, and begged me to buy mine, then his wife liked it so much that she stole it from him, and he went and bought himself a new 8gig........trust me, they are well worth the entry fee.

Everyone says they have no use for the internet in thier pocket, but when you have it, you use it ALL THE TIME!!

You get what you pay for has always been a motto of mine, and it always seems to hold true.

See, I too have had mine since the day they were available, and haven't had one problem, in fact, I recently sold my 4gig to a freind (same guy that bought the fake one), and upgraded to an 8gig, haven't had a problem with that one either.

haha screw at&t! the iphone came to verizon first but verizon declined because apple would not let the iphone come with insurance.. only the shitty apple warrenty also they wouldnt let verizon put there logo on the phone... VOYAGER FTW!!!!

thanks lambo! wow, you typed all that back from the iphone? is that time consuming without a keyboard? anyway thats awesome, thanks for the reply.. maybe down the road i might get one,,, i AM looking at other phones, saw that and posted here cuz i can read a million reviews, but gettin input from someone in real time that personally had it or knows someone who had it is worth all the random googling in the world..

im also looking at a palm centro right now that might be a better buy from the looks of it.. although a little more $ but does everything i want..

my buddy just got a centro i haven't played with it yet but he's extremely happy with it

Yeah I went through five of them for various reasons. 3 overheated for no reason that I or the techs could figure out and the first one I had crashed when I plugged in the headphones and killed the sound. The last one is still going strong and I've had it since October.

I would say if you want an iphone wait until the next one comes out and don't buy the cheap look-a-likes. They are a waste of money although they sound nice on eBay. The blackberry's and the Blackjacks are nice phones and you can make them media oriented if you wanted to...just get a bigger card.

Haha, yeah, I've had it for awhile, so typing on it is almost as easy, or easier with the smart keyboard than with a computer. I will not own a windows based phone as they are a pain in the ass to navigate.......the iPhone is just way too easy, do yourself a favor, save up around $430 (your taxes may be different than mine), and go buy one......you will NEVER go back to anything else.

Shitty apple warranty, ha!

They are BY FAR the easiest company to work with as far as warranty, I bought my brother an iPhone and his had an issue (something his fault, not the phones'), and he called Apple support, they overnighted an empty box to him with return lable inside, sent the phone back, and TWO DAYS later he had a BRAND NEW phone, with a renewed warranty.........I have read nothing but good things about thier service.

Also, there is third party insurance available on it.

Yeah my brothers phone flipped out on him after he plugged it into someones car with an older peripheral ipod hookup.......he had to get it replaced.

On the "next iPhone" note, I wouldn't hold out on any big things.......I have read and read all the rumors of 3G this, and other stuff that is supposed to come out on a new iPhone, but I personally spoke with an Apple representative recently that was from Apple corporate, he was visiting an Apple store in Las Vegas in my last trip there, I overheard him talking to a manager at the store, and bugged him about the situation, he said that Apple has no plans to release an iPhone2.0 or anything, any thing new will only be a firmware update for the upcomming unlock for developers, it will simply be a software update to 2.0.0......
