well215/40 is actually slightly bigger then what you have now... thats why im confused.. and yes the offset would help determine why they are rubbing.. that is probably the case because your tire size is fine.. hmmm yeah you might need spacers.. let someone else chime in for sure though

i say fix it properly. take care of whatever you need to to make it not rub. smaller tires, srt struts, whatever. wheel spacers are just the easy way out and place the weight of the wheel out farther than the car was designed for. they're a good way to wear out ball joints

yeah hudson i hear you but his tire size isnt the problem.. nor the struts... its the fact the wheels offset is too much... or maybe not enough.. not sure on that.. but his clearance with the strut is fine... he needs more offset from the hub.. which is why wheel spacers were brought up.. but i do agree in this case i would sell your wheels and get new ones with proper offset

how is it any different than than yours though? there's no difference between a 2000 and 2003 hub.

his wheels have different offset then mine... like i dont think they are the exact protypw srt wheels.. i think there just like them... i dunno but thats the only thing it can be.. it has to be the offset.. his tire size is fine..

oh, i see... well i guess wheel spacers. that IIRC, these http://www.mopar.com/m_perf_subcat2Chec ... 8719889380 allow for a wider wheel.

interesting question here... brings up a couple things...

for one, I think we determined that it is the wheel rubbing...he said originally it was 'grinding'...so it's not tire size

..and these look like SRT-4 wheels, is this true?

if they are, this changes what I was told -that you could run stock SRT-4 wheels but you just had to go with skinnier tires...

..sounds like he is saying that the SRT rims are rubbing, no matter what tires you put on those rims... (?)

EDIT: if these are not SRT rims, my bad...and nevermind..

these are the rims that were on the prototype srt 4... so yes they are srt rims but not the standard ones like i have in my sig.. i guess the prototype ones had more offset then the stock ones that actually come on srts.

The offset is different for sure. The TSW's (or knock-off's) he has came in a few offsets. The stock SRT wheels wouldn't rub, especially since that is the rear in that picture.

Here is what you do...trade me those wheels for my stock SRT's!

J/K...but those things are my favorites. Anyway, get a spacer like mentioned above, but don't go crazy with the thickness because you would need to go to longer studs.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

:withstupid: Get just enough to clear the tension strut. (That bar that it's hitting) Too bad they don't make those with an offset bow where the wheel/tire is, as the main function of the tension strut is to keep the rear suspension from folding under while braking, a clearance notch formed in wouldn't have much effect on it's function. I don't recommend modifying the OEM one in any way, but if there was an aftermarket one available it would be better than spacers. The OEM one is only $36 list, so it's not like they are an expensive piece. Just check it to make sure the wheel didn't do too much damage to the bar. Even tho it isn't much risk, a mark ground in it could cause it to snap down the road. With the wheels being aluminum, I don't think it did it much harm. But like I said it is prolly not gonna happen, but better safe than sorry.
