Soo, in my never ending tuning process, I was wondering what everyones timing tables looked like. I keep adding timing, and I don't really have a sign of detonation and my egts are going down, I just don't want to push my limits. I look at peoples spark tables, and they all seem really really difference, specifically the srt-4 stock spark table.
I am mostly curious about timing before peak torque but in boost ( between 1,500-3,500 rpms and past 100 kpa). When I get on the gas in low rpms, I shoot up to 5 psi, then it will start building boost at 3,500-4,500 to 10 psi. I know timing controls spool time, could it be that or something else (boost leak, turbo going bad, ect?) Should I be adding timing or retarding at that point? This problem is in any gear btw, not just first. I will post mine in alittle bit, I am just curious on what everyone else is doing.
Spark Tables?
i want to say mine are kind of conservative. i based mine off of the AEM for an SRT and just backed them off a few degrees. doesnt mean its right but its a whole lot better than stock! my egt's stay around 12's part throttle cruise no ac and about 1250 with the ac on so im pretty happy. with the stock controlling spark it was typical to see my egt's around 14ish... and this is after the turbo...

So, your saying that it ramps up hard to 5 psi, flattens out, then builds up to a gradual 10 psi. What your describing does sound like it could be a boost leak. It could also be the bov leaking or waste gate opening too soon. Timing could possibly cause the same issue, but your timing would have to be way off. If your map looks alot like td's then I would guess you'ed be doing 10 psi by 2500 RPM on a SRT turbo. I am just kind of shooting in the dark without seeing a datalog or knowing much about your setup. I don't think my map would be much use to you because of my cam and different turbo.

I would drop a few degrees of timing at the onset of boost (135kpa range)
Turbodudey, your table looks good for pump gas. Is that what you're burning on that table?

ASP - First NGC SOHC in the 13s and the 12s. First SOHC neon over 500whp. First NGC Neon on MS.

Yeah. 91 octane.Turbodudey, your table looks good for pump gas. Is that what you're burning on that table?
I still need to add some more timing in vacuum (cruising and overrun). Below 3800 rpm and above 125 kPa needs some more too. Without running on a steady state dyno, it's pretty much impossibe to tell exactly where it needs to be to keep peak pressure where we like it. I just go by feeling... lol. Tuning on a dyno is definitly the way to do it though.
