I bought a 2003 Neon SE in March of 2003. Gas hit $2/gallon and I had a 140 mile roundtrip commute. My truck and my minivan were not too thrifty. The Neon has only air conditioning as an option, no power windows, locks or seats or mirrors.
When I brought the Neon home, and the minivan it replaced.

And a couple pretty pics. The astute might notice one tire different. Destroyed a tire in less than a week of ownership...

Only REAL problem was 9 months after buying the car (with 20,000 miles already), the synchros went bad and when the dealership looked into the transmission, they found the diff was failing too. So, a new transmission went in under warranty.
Time flies and 2 jobs later, I had made only 3 mods. Really cool Hotwheels seatcovers...

And I painted the the stock hubcaps with Duplicolor wheelpaint, Graphite.

And no pics of the Pioneer stereo added after the Alpine I pulled from my minivan died.
I need to get some new pics now that I've changed jobs yet again, moved to another state, let my son take the Neon to college and another 2 sets of tires. I added some factory alloy wheels from an old Dodge Shadow. I only need one more center cap to finish them off. The wheels were also painted with Duplicolor wheelpaint, Graphite. I may be getting the car back soon, and am seriously considering some mods for fuel efficiency.
I'm interested in better headlights. What are my options. I'd like to add some offroad styled driving lights where the factory fogs go, meaning I'll have to cut the valnce open for them. Maybe block the upper grill completely (aerodynamic reasons). And maybe some lower body rocker skirts.
OK, there is my intro...
