First off, everything in California is very expensive. Also, with rising gas prices everybody is searching for a car that will get good gas mileage. The demand is up in the market for econoboxes like a neon right now.
Have you every thought of looking at another state for a car? You might be able to save a little bit of money, but going through the process of obtaining it may be a pain.

My family members from across the US ask me to mail them "Auto Traders" for the Southern Cali area all the time because they want a California car.
People buy cars from California because it never snows. The bodies are in better condition because we don't salt the streets here.
Only buy out of state if it's still west coast in a place with no snow.

unless you live next to the ocean!
I lived in San Diego for a while and saw a bunch of cars that visibly show rust from the top down, because of the salt spray/wind/air coming off the ocean. Don't know how it affects the paint where you can't see any rust ..yet

True. Very true. Then it's just that California is a money pit.Pablodragon wrote:unless you live next to the ocean!

I disagree. The beach is like 1 mile from my house. Very few cars have rust around here. Some do but its do to shitty maintenancePablodragon wrote:unless you live next to the ocean!

The other problem with CA cars is all the emissions BS they have to put on them.
