Sucks about your raise getting the axe, but at least you got some nice paint
Ya. I have more than made up for it. If I was buying all this regular. I would easily have over 1500 in just material for all teh shit for the inteior alone. Crazy how much this stuff adds up. All in all I think I have spent like 30 bucks for the DA sander I am using hahah. Gotta love being in the buisness.

I hear ya. I worked for Fisher AP for a while, and I was amazed at what some of that paint cost

Employee discounts FTW!!!

Sorry to all the non-insider folks out there :(
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

Been a while since I updated this thing. I had to stop working on it for a bit to get Aken's bike done and then I just got really busy. But I got some good time on it the last couple days. And it is really shaping up. Still needs a couple spots that I sanded through the glass and needs just a touch up but that should be easy. After I touch up those spots probably just one more coat of primer then I can wet sand and lay base down. Going to go with base clear instead of flat black. I think it would look a hell of alot better

doesn't Duplicolor make a paint that is exactly like that and a crap load cheaper than what you are paying...? im just wondering b/c I'm considering going the same way as far as colors go for the interior...

yea duplicolor makes paint for like 20 bucks a quart, my friend painted his dash and it didnt turn out bad at all. its a cheap way to go, if uv never sprayed it its gonna be hard to make it look good. its cheap paint so its gonna be difficult to spray and look right. i would put a good clear over it. dont know how long its gonna last tho. and not sure what its gonna do cuz it probably doesnt have uv protection on it.

Got to work today to take a look at her. OOOHHHHH WEEEE!! She has some dust in her yes. But it is ALOT less noticeable in the sun. I will put her in today and see if it is noticeable. Quite frankly it doesn't really bother me. I know it will never be perfect and I was not expecting it to be. I think it looks great and it is a dash that you will NEVER see in any other neon. Which makes me happy. And man did I learn alot from doing this. LOTS of tips and techniques about glassing. Very glad I did it and can't wait to use my skills on new projects.
