I took my car on a road trip this weekend and had a problem. Everything was fine for a while, but on deceleration the car would backfire really loud and buck near the end of my trip. When at a constant rpm everything was smooth. Someone cut me off, and i had to let off the gas for a while, the car popped and bucked, then stalled. I pulled over, and it wouldn't fire back up. My laptop died earlier on the road for whatever reason when it was plugged into MS, and I thought that someone it corrupted my MS file, but I fixed my laptop and MS seems to be fine now.
My battery is dead, but when i went to try to start the car now it seemed like it was flooded (wide band went to --- rich, normally it will go to --- lean). I have the spoolboy mod, and recently I plugged the stock regulator with gas tank epoxy and it seems to be leaking alittle bit. Nothing mechanically seems to be wrong, but it seems to be either a fuel related problem or something weird with MS.
Any ideas?

Decel fuel trim. It's super annoying. I would just turn it off. It's really not helpfull anyway.
I just use the overrun fuel cut to completely turn fuel off while decelerating, and leave decel fuel trim at 100%.
That should fix the backfiring/bucking craziness...

Well i have never really had a problem with it to begin with. On my trip there, it would decel fine. On the trip back about half way I started having problems with it. I am still alittle stumped on why my car wont start now though. I need to get a battery charger or harass autozone to give me a new battery so I can figure this problem out.turbodudey wrote:Decel fuel trim. It's super annoying. I would just turn it off. Either I am having fuel delivery problems (fuel pump related), MS problems, or when my car backfired it hurt something. The backfire was pretty loud.
