Spark plug wire doesn't fit!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by OlyR/T » Fri May 02, 2008 1:13 pm

I have an 03 rt and I changed the spark plugs yesterday. When I tried to put the plug wire back in the 3rd tube it wouldn't lock down. All the other ones are fine but I could push the wire down into the tube all the way and it still wont grab the plug. Do I need to replace my plug wire or is there something I can do to fix that one wire? thanx for the help.

Are you sure that the rubber gromet on the spark plug changing socket is not stuck in there ?

if not, then you might need a new wire, as the wire end might be damaged, it is a few dollars only for a new wire.... easy fix

Yeah, I know it's not the gromet. I think the electrode cap broke off on my old plug (already trashed, can't check now). Would it be better to just get a whole new set of plug wires. I was thinking of going with the granatelli wires from modern.

Unless you have some serious needle nose pliers, I don't know if you could get the broken plug out of the wire boot/connector (if it's there) Might be spendin' $40 on a set of wires, to upgrade.
