Long Tube Header Problem
I bought an MPX Long Tube Header a while back and am now in the process of installing it. What I need help with is does anyone know someone on here who has one installed? They built it with upper and lower o2 sensor bungs but the lower is on the wrong side of the LT and the header doesn't fit because it's in the way. I'm curious what someone else did about this.
Now for my next question, I've got a AF/X Street Strip PCM installed. Can I delete the o2 sensors without pulling a code?
I need some input ASAP. Thanks all. Here's a link to a picture of it:

Its not an issue of it not reaching, it's an issue of the LT not bolting up to the header because the o2 sensor is jamed into the exhaust tunnel and wont fit (because of where modern performance decided to locate the sensor). My only option may be deleting it and because of the aftermarket pcm I believe I can without pulling a code but I wanted to ask the opinion of others to confirm it.

I just talked to howell about the pcm and modern performance about the downstream o2 sensor placement. MP said that people rarely run a cat with that header and so didn't have anyone complain about it. Apparently I'm the first. Howell told me that only the race pcm has the o2 deletes (doah! I knew I should have bought the race pcm
). I'll have the exhaust shop weld in a bung past the high flow cat and I'll extend the wire to it. I may have to use the spark plug fowler trick as well. At least down there I'll have space for it. Thanks for taking the time to relpy guys. peace.

The down stream o2 shouldn't have much effect, as it's sole purpose is to tell the PCM that the cat is or isn't doing it's job. But having said that, when the downstream failed on my XJ my fuel mileage went to shit. but that may be the difference between a bad one plugged in and none at all. The upstream and down IIRC share the same ground, so a bad sensor may influence the other. A missing one, I really can't say from experience. If you are really concerned have a bung welded into the pipe connecting to the header exit flange. You will need to extend the wiring tho. And with no cat inbetween the two you may still need to run the non fouler to prevent a CEL.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.

Just get an o2 bug welded in behind your cat by a muffler shop near you. $15-$20 tops. Then just extend the o2 wires to reach it, because it won't reach as far as you will want it. Then just find a steel plug to fit it the hole where they say for you to put the downstream on the header.
And no it doesn't effect anything performance wise. If your state has emissions, you won't pass just like zero said.
