Low brake fluid, check it for the correct level ASAP.

Good luck

Check you pads as well to make sure they aren't worn.

If the fluid is low, do what diablo said before you top the fluid off. Unless there are leaks, brake fluid doesnt just disappear. If your pads are worn alot, the piston will hold more fluid, causing the reservoir to not be full to the line.

This seems to be common on a lot of dodge cars, and even the eclipse/talon that share the same parts. Once the pads wear down it drops the fluid, just add more and you're good.

Maybe he understands "Emergency Brake" over "E-brake" ---I can see that.

True, I just thought he would have checked that already. I know my avenger would do the same thing before the pads even wore down half way.

Don't just top it off unless you know that there's a leak. If the brake light comes on then either the emergency/parking brake is on (or the switch is stuck) or the reservoir is low on brake fluid which could be a leak or just worn brake shoes/pads, either way theres a problem. Does the pedal feel soft or do you have to press it down a ways to get any feel?
