Thanks man, and I will. Should be ready to scream like a raped ape this weekendmospaxreton wrote:Dam Im so jealous, but happy for you at the same time Weber. Good job on saving all that money. Now make sure it gets installed right and tuned if possible and you'll be set! Good luck dood ! And of course keep us posted

Takes a little bit more than that to put it onCrashTeam wrote:I was debating on mounting my intercooler for a spin around town just to confuse the shit out of the rice crowd... Not worthing takin of the bumper though.
Not to be a dick, but.....wrong!......there is a very specific radiator paint available, it has a ceramic based powder in it that actually helps heat dissapation, but I would be wary of putting heavy coats on it....I would just "dust" it to make it a dark gray......then use a black or tight knit silver mesh......that will keep eyes off of it.....BlackRoseRacing wrote:no it wont....
Any coating of any type ontop of a heatsink will degrade its cooling effects. Unless its a special metalic type of a paint designed to help heat transfer...wich I never heard of......
I want my car to remain a sleeper/stealth. Can I paint or anodize my intercooler so it is not easily visible?
Yes! It is not uncommon at all for an intercooler and endtanks to be anodized black to keep attention away from the car and help it maintain a sleeper appearance. A very light coat of paint on the core and endtanks is also another option, usually much cheaper and easier than anodizing, with a negligible performance loss.

No kidding, haha. Im impressed with my $1300 for it all. considering everything is new except the IC and turbo (10k on them)CrashTeam wrote:Weber, Just picked up the SRT exuast, 75 bucks shipped... one more part down... I also splurged on some srt springs, I figured it will look the turbo part being lower by about an inch tothose were 50 shipped...
Im so cheap
PS: we should retitle this thred "How cheap can we build a reliable turbo system"

I have an 03 and you still have to cut holes to the side of the radiator support and relocate the pcm. The ic will not just mount up without modifacation.CrashTeam wrote:Its much easier in the 03+, everything is all ready for it due to the srt... For once another perk to having a 03+ neon!
I got rid of my windsheild wiper fluid and filled up that tank with the coolant and re-ran the lines for it. Easy enough to do... except you don't have windsheild wiper fluid...Seventhguest wrote:small question on making room for the turbo. what did you do with the engine coolant reservoir?
did you change is to the srt4 setup and moved it to the left?
