one question

Post by onewickedkid05 » Thu May 08, 2008 11:28 pm

ok so i know this has been discussed and ive read several threads i just have one question about the welfare bar setup

I keep hearing the best bang for your buck is the pt front sway and the rt rear sway..... but would a 26mm front and a 19mm rear be mismatched as compared to something like a 20 22 mm front and a 19 rear??

i have both bars in my 2000 neon so i know the rear is 15 i belive can anyone also tell me the front size

I believe this is these are the standard sizes for non R/T or SRTs:
Front = 20mm
Rear = 14mm (if equiped)

ok so my front is a 20mm to begin with so would an rt bar in the rear be sufficiant?....i mean i dont go autoxing or anything i would just like my car to handle like a bat out of hell. Like its on rails

and i dont want the bars TOO big to the point where i feel everylittle bump in the road....my car already hits hard from my 2 inch drop so i need something that will increase my handling performance but wont make my ride unbearable

I think I have the R/T (19mm) one in the rear, but I can't remember. It might be 17mm. Either way, I like it. Just need to get to work on replacing all of my bushings, they are shot, except the rear sway bar ones which were urethane to begin with. Since you're car has a few years under its belt I'd suggest taking a look at your bushings too (Front Control Arm, Front Sway Bar & End Links, etc..) That will probaby make a lot bigger of a difference over increasing teh size of your sway bar. Not too much more $$ either.

R/T
Front = 22mm
Rear = 19mm
My setup
Front = 26mm PT GT
Rear = 22mm Progress
Lovin the combo and I can take turns twice as fast as the stock R/T setup....

Post by onewickedkid05 » Fri May 09, 2008 10:13 am

so would an srt front and a rt rear be good i believe

24/19mm

so if i go with an srt-4 front bar.......will my stock bolts and parts work to put it in or do i need the srt endlinks and everything. Also IF i do the srt4 front rt rear will the energy suspension bushing kit work for all my bushings? or must i buy them individuallly

Any way you go that includes larger than stock bars will be noticably better (especially with new bushings). Most people like whatever set-up they have. I am happy with my stock front and R/T rear, but I have no other comparrison besides my old stock set-up which was the 20mm front and none in the rear.
