Removing B and C pillars???
Removing B and C pillars???
How hard is it to remove the be and c pillars. I don't want to mess them up. Is there a certain way to take them off.. I want to color match them as well as color match my mirrors.

Then...what are the C-pillars? You mean the black trim at the back part of the rear door?
If so, there are two nuts on the backside of the trim that you get to from the inside of the door. The interior trim panel would have to come off of course.
As far as the B-pillars (the front and rear doors are both B-pillars), there are 3 screws per trim that need to be removed, and they should pull off iirc.

If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

You have to pull out the window channels (the rubber runs that the glass slides in) to see them.
Here are some pics to help you...
Pull this part down first...

Then pull here...

Here are the screws...

Sorry for the bad pics...it's dark already

Pull away the window track thing. Pull the part a lil and stick a flat screwdeiver in the gap and pretty much just pry it off.

The black on the right is the "pillar" the lil stud is whats holding it.

Its 3 studs total. they look like screws but the dont screw in.
(yes my car used to be that cinamon color

Any word on this? I haven't had time to look myself but wanted to get a definitive answer before I start taking mine off. I doubt I paint the c-pillar one but the b's need it bad but if I gotta take the window out to take the back door ones off, I'm just gonna do the front and forget the backs. Dont' want to do it like that but seems too much a hassle to do all that work just to paint them.
Sorry, it took longer than I planned
Well, you can't access the lower screw on the rear like the front ones (as you found out) with out removing the window run. The FSM doesn't give any info on how to remove the rear channel, but as far as I can tell there is one screw that holds the run onto the door. You can access it by removing the rear interior trim panel. Once the run is pulled out of the way, you can get to the screw.
Hope that makes sense.

One last thing..
what do you recommend to paint them? cause my pillars are faded. bad.
I understand how to take them off thanks to all the posts, however what are you using to paint the pillars? spray paint?

Wait, so you are talking about spraying the rubber weather stripping part? I wonder what that would look like.jetas wrote:I did mine when i got my car painted. Makes the car look so much better and no more ugly faded black. Now that i know how to remove the piece on the back door ima do it.

A sneak peak..
A sneak peak at the color matched pillars and mirrors, also a new CF hood .... I ran out of mopar paint, so the mirrors are still primed. I had to install them because I had to get a vehicle inspection tyhe other day..
