srt4 rim/tire on stock 04 sxt

I have stock srt4 17x6 rims and im hoping I can put a low profile tire like a 205/40/17 on my stock neon sxt without doing any damage like rubbing.I will only do this if its safe and proper fitting.I just want to know once and for all if this can be done without getting srt4 struts and shocks.

Please help a neon brother out, PLEASE!

Might wanna go with 205/45/17 ... even then you are pushing it.
