What do you think.

Paint came out nice cept for dust like usual. Not sure if I like the look though. Hopefully it will grow on me. If not I will probably end up spraying the a differnt design and more of the hood with just parts of the cf showing. IDK yet. I am kinda bummed I though it would look awsome. Maby I was wrong to do this? Did I just kill the look of my car?

But everytime I go look at it I like it a little more. IDK. Oh well. That will teach me to next time get a PS of somethign before I do somethig like this.

BTW the hood isn't closed all the way(clear is only an hour old right now still curing) so that is why teh gap. And yes there is tape on teh washer nozzles. Forgot to take it off before i took pics.

IDK yet. If I am going to rock it for a while and see how I like it. If I decide I don't like it the whole thing is getting sprayed black probably. Time will tell.

And thanks slaw. Always nice to hear from someone that loves my car. Makes me happy.

I think since you painted it it defines the scoop more, which kills the look of it. When it was CF it didn't look half bad because of the textured look the CF gave it, then again I've never really liked that style of hood.

Hopefully it grows on you.

I like CF for one thing...lightweight. Any CF that went on my car would be painted body color. That said, I really like it.

One question though...is it because the hood is up that the color doesn't seem to match?

LOL!! I ONLY painted the scoop of the hood. I left the rest CF and just put some new clear over it all so it flowed nicely. After a day I have turned to like it alot. ANd it will be staying.

Thanks for the comments guys. I didn't even plan on doing this until I got off of work early and just wanted to paint something haha. Just goes to show what painters do when they are board. :)

you did a good job paiting it the only problem its not a noticable mod because the carbon already looks black from a photo standpoint. To me it didnt kill the cars look (which it looks great ) but it didn't add anything to it aswell. Just my .02

me personally I like the CF look and i wouldnt spend the money on a CF hood to just paint it but thats just how i feel the car looks great but there is nothing like that CF hood and trunk and accent looks but two tone one color and CF look better then black with black CF

I'm on the fence. From the view you took from above I like the way it looks, from the front it looks funny. My reasoning behind that: you should have taken the black straight down to the front of the hood and not stopped where you did. Creating body lines that aren't there never looks right to me. I think if you had carried the black all the way down it would have looked better.

why didnt you paint the hood black? if you did the pictures make it look like the hood is a different shade. i think if you paint it black like the rest of the car it will look really good. and i also noticed that you have ur dash in. does that mean its painted or is that a different dash?

No that is a different dash. I don't have it painted yet. Haven't had time to work on it. Still needs body work. But it is looking ALOT better than before.

And that is the exact black that is on the rest of the car. Straight black. All I did was paint the scoop remember. The rest is still cf.

Not bad, in my opinion it would of looked better with the reverse of what you did. All black hood with the raised portion CF.

The reason why I painted the scoop is this is a used hood. Was actually sammys(doublesausage) old hood. And it had a couple rock chips and scratches on the scoop when I got it. So this was a way to cover those up and add a little custom touch to it.

Thanks for comments and suggestions though.

In that case I'd paint everything to the left, front, and right of what is painted. Leaving the center "triangle" portion CF.

Either way, the paint came out nice. Good Job.

True I could do that. But I really like the look of cf. And that would cover up too much of it. If I didn't have those chips I wouldn't have painted at all. I really like how it looks in person. And it is custom. So that is good enough for me. Thanks though.
