Your spark plug tube seals. Unbolt your coil pack, pull of your valve cover, you're going to see 4 tubes that stick straight out. One or maybe even all of them are going to be sticking up higher than normal. You could tap them down to reseat them but first go to the dealer and get a new set. It's been covered 9000 times, do a search and you'll find it. Eh, anything could have happened to it man, honestly. My 98 showed some signs of oil in the spark plugs, but the last time I pulled them they looked fine. Just get the spark plug tube seals, and go from there.
The 05, I want to pay off, which is $6700. Its just regular emissions, not CA, 5-speed, it has the air box lid mod, and no muffler. Transmission was replaced by Mopar at 27,000 miles, oil changes regularly, I hardly beat on it, and my fiance drives it now. It currently has 75,000 miles on it, and I've owned it since new.
Yeah you should be able to get it from an autoparts store. My car had 7 miles on it when I bought it, and I got a 6 year loan. So far its been the best, most reliable car, I bought it March 29th, 2005. It's not that I'm hard to get along with, but you are making up numbers, and I'm very realistic. There is no way an auto 2GN N/A neon will beat an SRT. If you've been to the track, get me some slips, even an 1/8 mile slip.
If you would like, I could tell everyone about the convo we're having, and they'll tell you that you're full of BS. There is only one auto N/A neon I know thats in the 12's, and he has a fuckload of work done, and races in the NHRA class SuperStock or something along those lines.

In those few quotes, you all said you have a dead stock car, then headwork that has cost you $1500, then your car (wheather its stock or not) will eat an SRT-4 which is a 2.4 liter DOHC turbocharged motor, then you said you had all this crazy head work (by the way, you can only have one OBX cam gear, and I don't know if they make a SOHC one yet) that was in a Talon somehow.
We are not talking about the same neon with a fuckload of work. The one I'm talking about is on neons.org, owned and ran by Tim Kish. It ran a 12.995@106.77 in NHRA SuperStock class.
I am nowhere near unhappy with my neon. My 98 gets 40 MPG daily, and runs a high 15. By the end of this summer, I'll be touching 14's on motor, and running 13's with spray. The only complaint I have with it, is that its starting to hurt my back when I drive it, but I do drive 40 minutes to and from work. Hopefully a set of 2GN seats will help it out. If you want to tell all of 2GN.org about how I am unhappy with the aftermarket performance of my 2GN neon, then go ahead. They already know.
My 2GN on the other hand, its been a very dependable car, and a very nice looking car, and I love it to death. But performance wise it came at a disadvantage. For one, it weighs a good bit more than a 1gn. It has a fucked up computer since its a 2003-2005, so there is no aftermarket support. If I had known any of this, I would have either bought an SRT, or a 1gn first.
Look at Sgt Brad, and Hudson_Neon. They have put a shit ton more work into their cars than you have, and look at the numbers. Sgt Brad has a 2.2 liter stroker motor, with a huge cam, and he put down 160WHP with tuning issues. Right now, although his car is bad as fuck, its not going to beat a stock SRT-4, which puts down 250WTQ and 230WHP dead stock. Your car wont beat an SRT-4, not even close, unless your car is spraying or boosted, and the SRT-4 drivers are letting you win. There are VERY FEW cars on here than can beat a stock SRT-4. I'm fairly certain all of them have power adders, and are not N/A. Infact, there is only one N/A 2GN car that I have seen run a 13, and that was someone else on neons.org that had taken a 2.4 block, and put a SOHC head on it. It ran a 13.77 on slicks, and a 14.6 on street tires.
Sorry if it sounds like I'm having a massive contest with you, but maybe you'll realize that you have to stop fronting, or prove it.

12's in the 1/8th is good for an 18 second pass. Infact, here are 4 time slips from the last time I was out in my 98. The last run was against a smoking, oil burning Dodge Ram 50. He was running 18's.

ATX neons are slow, an SRT-4 runs atleast a 14.0 in the 1/4 mile, which is atleast a 9.0 in the 1/8th. IF you have friends that are running SRT-4's in the 1/8, and they are only running 12's, then there is something completely wrong.
