oops!!!
oops!!!
ok i heres the senerio, i had my 6x9's hooked up to the stock wires and for some stupid reason i put my sub wires to that, it sparked and shot off. i thought for sure i blew my speakers, but i did not, i unplugged the stock wires and put the sub wires bak to it and the speakers work fine. i checked all of my fuses but nothin was blown, and i dont know what else it could be. plz give me some kind of idea as what to look at.
ok i looked at if after i wrote this, so heres the deal, i had the factory wireing going to my 6x9's they were working and playing music, for some reason i put the positive and negative from my amp to the positive and negative to the speakers that were already wired up, it sparked and the music stopped playin thru out the whole stock wireing. the amp wires still play music to my subs and ne speakers i wire it to, so the speakers are fine, when i put a test light to it to see if it was gettin power nothin i even put a meter to it and it was reading nothing. the headunit still works but for some reason my stock wires arnt getting power ne more. could a fuse in the head unit blow its a double din not a flip out or reagular headunit.

take the hu out, un do a + and - before the pig tail ( im assuming you bought one an didnt splice)
then hook a speaker to it if u get sound u have a burn wire if you dont get sound u fried the internal amp inside the hu ( this would be the reason why no sound through the stock wires-->speakers but still get music through the amp)

simple you blew out your radio... you gotta go shopping now for a new one.
also a testlight or meter are supposed to show nothing when you hook them out to the stock speaker lines.... they test for D\C current speakers run off A\C current.
what you basically did was you made your amp backfeed into the radio's amp... so basically you hooked up the output of 2 amps together... get the idea? if you wanted to power the 6x9's with that amp you were SUPPOSED to disconnect the existing line from the speaker
