A question about this Ebay CAI, is there a typo here?

A question about this Ebay CAI, is there a typo here?

Post by swordsailor » Fri May 23, 2008 2:43 pm

I'm looking into adding my first mod... here's the link to the ebay CAI

In the item heading it states its ok for an '04 - which is what I have. However, in the picture from the manufacturer it says it only fits 00-03 neons. I've emailed the seller to get some clarification but have not yet received a response.

Does anyone know if this exact CAI will work on my '04 2.0L SOHC? I really like the red piping and want to get this one if possible. Otherwise, I'll have to settle for the chrome versions on Ebay. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the chrome ones, I just like the look of the red CAI.

Thanks for your help.

I got a reply from the Ebay seller. He states that the CAI he's selling is only for 00-03 and that it won't work on a 2004 Neon. Go figure....

I wonder what the difference is. I'm tempted to buy it just so I can find out.

I'm not sure what I'll do, though.

buy it it'll fit... for some reason i cant see the picture on my work computer.. but all the years are the same fit. unless your an r/t which has a curved bellows tube. make sure you are getting all the clamps and couplers i think its 3 couplers and 4clamps make sureit has the little nipple on it to connect your pcv hose too, and that it has the hole for the IAT sensor.. like this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-Tru ... 241641736&

The seller doesn't know what he is talking about. The air intake system is the same on all non-SRT 2gn's, with the only difference being the R/T bellows tube.

Thanks for all the help folks. I appreciate it. I can't wait to install it. I've removed the air box, snorkle, and resonator box this morning. I've got a K & N filter on now with the O2 sensor placed inside the filter. My God, it sounds fantastic. I can't wait to hear how it sounds with a full blown CAI. Performance has definately improved with just this minor mod. I'm looking forward to even better response once the CAI is in place.
