i understand he was *trying* to do a burn out.... but what is he actually doing?

it just sounds like hes revving it to like 6k and just barely engaging the clutch

he is frying the clutch...

I dunno how its even possible only if you have a clutch problem or you are pressing the brakes :)

Even a braindead person would've given up after the first two tries.

When I took my car to the strip I didn't even bother trying a burnout.

See the people staring at him going WTF.

That dude was trying to impress someone I just wonder who that was.

I have a 3 spd auto and 205 16 tires and when i brake torque it it still peels through the first few feet and I got half the HP this dude has.

I hope that car ends up in the junk yard and not in someone that rally wants an SRT.

Dudes like that should not be allowed to drive anything that has more than 3 cyl.

Straight Cut gears with no synchros. Much more durable.

yeah. there was a huge discussion on this about why its neccessary over at srtforums.com.

http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=196228

there was also a discussion about heel/toe as well

"You see in most true racing cars they don't have synchronizer rings as we do in any modern street car.

In order to downshift without grinding or messing up the tranny they must:

1. press the clutch in to release the car from gear
2. go into nuetral
3. let the clutch out for the input shaft to reengage it to the engine
4. rev the engine to sync up to driveline speed
5. press the clutch back in to disengage the input shaft from the engine
6. downshift to next gear."

i went out yesterday and tried the double-clutch technique and for some reason it goes in really easily. no more reverse grinds or trouble snapping it into first :) :) i know i dont have a circuit/race car but it did make downshifting, and shifting when completely stopped, much easier

The manifold welds are letting go, so my aluminum floor mat is going to let go and drop a hole in my floor :? ....whats the saying,,,,I may be Dumb, but im not stupid! :D

the simple fix for the reverse grind is...go into 4th gear first then reverse...will slide in easily everytime
