Pics of my sleeper .
This 2000 Neon is my daily driver & is not washed that often so today I washed it up & took some pics , I just did the SRT-4 swap on it last month also , let me know what you think.

The swap took me & my friend about 9 hours from start to finish , but me & my friend have worked on about 8 different SRT-4's in this area in the last 4 years so we new are way around the engine bay , I had an SRT-4 a few years ago & sold it & missed it ever since , so I decided to start buying the parts I needed to swap into my daily driver a few months ago & now I have my sleeper , I got 90% of my parts in one shot from LKQonline , they are a junkyard in Cali , the engine & transmission where from a 2005 ACR SRT-4 with 20,000 miles on it & it runs & drives great .KC21Balla wrote:damn man.. nice ride! how long did it take/ you to do the swap and where did you get your motor and tranny

About $4,000 for everything , it is best to find a wrecked SRT-4 in your area if you want to do a swap because then you will have everything in one car & you won't have to look for all the small parts you will need if you just piece it together like I did & it would probably be cheaper.KC21Balla wrote:what do you think it costed you? from start to finish.. for the motor and wiring harnesses and everything?

The hardest part on mine was to find out where to cut & mod the firewall for the clutch master cylinder because mine was a 2000 neon , everything else is just taking out the old & then putting in the new stuff , everything goes in the same spot & even the wire harness all plug in the same area .bdmski wrote:I wish there was someone like you in las vegas that could do a swap for me once I get enough money that knows our cars.
Thanks.theTeejmiester wrote:wow.that is a fckin sleeper right therei love it.i am planning on my swap right now.i think i am going to do it over the winter.i love the sleeper idea like your car.everyone will be like" oh its just a neon, they are slow as hell" and then

Somedays I miss my S3R SRT-4.. But then I drive my MS3 and those thoughts go away.Blackyblack wrote:You are correct , I decided after I got all my swap stuff together to go ahead & buy some things I new I would end up doing later anyway before I put it all in & that was one of them.MoxHair wrote:I spot a Stage 3 Turbo
I enjoyed the 11second daily driver, but I'm much happier with my Mazda.

Nice car, I like it a lot! Question though, can it really be a sleeper if you have lowered it, tint, rims, tails?

Mirrors where bought a long time ago & came off my last SRT-4 before I sold it , I think someone else has a set though in the USA besides me.TNK wrote:love it. whered you get the mirrors? i think the one thing it needs is a front grille bar.
Yes .glasswars wrote:Didn't you have a SRT? I have pictures of a black SRT in the same exact driveway on my computer, lol.
That was me , I sold that car , started my own business , bought this 2000 Neon for my daily driver , & have bought & sold a few cars since , but my business keeps me busy so I don't have time to keep this thing clean every day like I did the SRT-4 , this car gets washed mabe once a month if that , take care man.kaminari_neon wrote:are u 2.4turboman from srt forums? your old srt was amazing...this swap is also very clean
Well it's a sleeper in the since that whenever someone sees me driving on the highway they probably would not even give it a second thought or think man I wonder what kind of motor they got in that Neon , & having rims & tint is pretty much every other car you see on the road now a days .kc2002acr wrote:Nice car, I like it a lot! I love the swap man, congrats on that. I'd love to do the same thing. Maybe one day i'll find a decent donor
i little off topic... but where did you get your rotors from, they looked like they were drilled and slotted... i cant seem to find a good place to get some decent ones..
