Shorter end-links on R/T struts dropped with SRT springs?

Post by joseph_hac » Sat May 31, 2008 3:41 pm

Hello,

I just bought a set of SRT springs to lower my 2003 R/T a little with my stock R/T struts. As you may know, these springs should be good for about 1/2" drop in the front and 1" in the rear. I have read somewhere, although I cannot find the thread, that I will need to get shorter end-links for the rear. There is a local shop that sells shorter end-links with bushings for the SRT, but would these fit my R/T as well?

Also, would I need to worry about new end-links for my front sways, or is a half inch drop not enough to warrant shorter links?

The front is not changed with the drop ignore this end.

The rear once dropped over say 1/2" start looking for shorter end links. Say about 60% of drop is a good guess. So look in the sticky.......

Start with Energy Suspension (easier to get over the counter, heck pep boys carried most of these as well as some Advance Auto, and Auto Zone)

Universal Sway Bar End Link Kits
for lowering your car measured by the length of the spacer sleeve.

1" -- 9.8122
1 5/8" -- 9.8120
2" -- 9.8123
2 3/8" -- 9.8125 -- Works good on a 1.5” drop
2 5/8" -- 9.8117
2 7/8" -- 9.8118
3 3/8" -- 9.8119 -- Stock SRT4 Part for rear
3 9/16" -- 9.8124 -- Stock 2GN Part for rear
4 1/4" -- 9.8149
4 1/2" -- 9.8121

I'd guess either start with 9.8119 or maybe 9.8118

I have srt struts with mopar stage 1 springs. I will be installing some srt sway bars front/rear. The mopars give about a 1 inch drop.
Do I need shorter endlinks?
What is the purpose of shorter links?

When I did my endlinks for my stock struts I found that the collar that goes on there can come apart in three pieces. So went down to the local bolt store (not home depot- a real hardware store) and got some grade 8 bolts that were the right length then figured out the right length on the collars, popped the end off, cut and then put then end back on.

if it doesn't make sense I can try and draw you a picture...

check out my old thread here... it will be a different situation because I used heim joints, but it still applies.
