Gauge Question

Post by 2k1MotorSport » Wed Jun 04, 2008 9:32 am

First off.. what size gauge does the srt gauge pod take? I'm guessing that its the 2 1/16" gauges. I'm looking to get an oil pressure gauge and autometer has different PSIs. A 100 and a 200 PSI gauge. Which one would i need? The 100 PSI one?

And which one do people like more...

I would stick with a 100 psi, as it would be more accurate, unless your pressure hangs around 100 psi all the time. Generally gauges are the most accurate at about 50% of their scale. Not sure what the average cold psi is on neons as I have yet to install one. My Omni engine (VW) would peg the needle at cold idle, and hold about 60 psi warm idle.

Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.

:withstupid: and my gauge reads about 60psi cold idle and 25psi warm. this seems to be about the norm for our neons.

Yup, mine reads 50 psi cold and 25 warm idle, usually hovers at 65/70ish psi @ 75-80mph.
