Doesn't look too bad, but the estimate is $900 lol.
He hit my car and left the scene. A witness described the car to me. I talked to the gate guard, he said no one had left matching that description. So I drive through the entire complex and write down tags of 3 cars that match. It was dark and I somehow missed the taillight damage. This is around 2am. After filing a police report I go to bed, unable to sleep because of how pissed I am. At 4am I see headlights through my bedroom window. I look up to see a white Ford station wagon drive by, and park 2 spots away from me. I go outside with my badge, and other work related materials....
He starts of by denying he had ever been here before. I then point out to him his taillight laying in pieces next to my car. Then I point out my badge to him, and inform him that I deal with this on a daily basis, so effing with me is only going to get him into more trouble.
At the end of the day I decided not to call the police back and get him arrested for DUI and hit-and-run. The knowledge that my car would be fixed out of his pocket (insurance) was reward enough.
