new look on my stock bumper....

Got a question on outside appearance modifications. Questions about body kits, exterior lighting, just anything thats a visual mod on the "exterior" of the car. Ask those questions here.

new look on my stock bumper....

Post by supertrick_05 » Fri Jul 29, 2005 6:51 pm

I was planning on getting an SRT-D bumper to replace my stock one, but I did a little thinking....now I kinda like the stock bumper. I modified it slightly on a photo imaging program and made the bottom grille lines flat black. I think it makes a world of difference and wouldn't mind getting one of the few lip kits for it now. Also, I'd like to paint that ugly "bling" chrome on the upper grille silver to match the rest of the car. What do you think? Should I do it and save LOTS of money? Let me know....here's the pics.

Yikes...that sucks. Luckily those are the only injuries you sustained.

Anyway, back to supertrick_05's question...I like the grille painted black. Doing the same with the chrome parts would probably look great, also.

I think the black lower grill looks good. I think it would look cheap if you cut out the openings and put mesh in them. But that's just me, personally I HATE mesh in bumpers.

First, I can't cut those bars out....I can't explain it very well, but if I cut them out, there wouldn't be a smooth surface where I cut them out....they would leave slits in the inside of those bumper holes. Like I said, I can't explain it with words....I gotta show ya and I can't.

Second, I will not put mesh back there, and if I do, it's gonna be coated with the black rubber stuff. Some cars I do like with the silver mesh behind the grille openings, but not this car.
