Doing a SRT-4 Motor swap into your Neon, maybe even a 2.4... have questions about it, what you'll need or what issues you'll run into? Answers can be found in here.

2.4 bottom end on 2002 r/t??

WOndering if anybody has done this, and if so, or if not, what everyone thinks of it?

I would keep my head, intake and exhaust manifolds, and was hoping to bolt up to a 2.4 bottom end?

Has this been done, could it work?

It's been done before, but it's not as good as a real 2.4 swap or a SRT swap.

One guy on neons.org did it, he had a 10.5:1 bottom end, a crane 005 cam, a ported/milled .030" head, AFX computer, all that stuff, and was running 13.70's. It is interesting, but its actually harder since you have to figure out all the timing adjustments.

i still cant believe you bought hump's neon!

how many neon have you owned eh??

btw - you can do a 2.4l 2001 pt crusier swap in it if you wanted to. or you can just swap an entire srt4 motor in like i did ;)

HI,

I'm the one who've done the 2.4L bottom end swap. I've done it for the same exact reason, I had a bunch of part laying for SOHC and I just didn't want to start over again. +++There was the challenge. It have been daily drive since.

I've been asked for the setup and told it several time. Today, I'll go at a machine shop and ask for a price. If the cost is acceptable, I may do a group buy.

any interexted?

I would love to see some pic/videos of the car please. I thought about doing this just to say "I have it" but I never got very far.
